Glass Sand Resources

Walt Disney World has a pilot program at their campground, Fort Wilderness, utilizing recycled glass sand for their trails and drainage as flooring in their greenhouses at EPCOT Center.

The ACS released the results of a pilot study using a mixture of recycled glass sand (like the product produced at ACRES of Glass) and potting soil to grow  vegetables.

"Early results suggest that the plants grown in recyclable glass have faster growth rates and retain more water compared to those grown in 100% traditional soil. ...”

Tumbled glass mulch has no jagged, sharp edges, which makes it useful for a variety of uses in the landscape including pathways, fire pits, or around potted plants.
